Can't record sound on laptop, any advice? Problem with driver?

Whenever I record something on my webcam it wont record the sound, only the video.





Also, i've tried ripping a DVD on to my computer and the same thing happens, it says there is a device missing, how can i rectify this? ThanksCan't record sound on laptop, any advice? Problem with driver?
Go to settings/control panel/system/device manager


and delete the sound device and shut down. Reboot


and you should get the message ';new device found'; see


if windows can install it from the windows files.


If it is not there you will have to download the driver and install it manually.
