ThanksSome advice needed for a problem with my Yorkshire Terrier?
The problem is probably not related to the fact that you stopped feeding dog food. The issue here is you have a dog that appears to have an appetite problem. The only thing I can suggest as a temporary test to see if it's the chicken itself (dogs can develop allergies to anything) is try maybe half a scrambled egg mixed with water and microwaved. Or take some tuna canned in water, rinse it to get rid of excess salt, and give her this. Or try boiled ground beef - my yorkie loves this. If she eats the new food, the problem might be the chicken. But you're going to have to figure something out, because you can't feed her eggs or tuna every day if she likes it.
Also, have you tried canned food? Again, this is just to test to see whether it's the food or a medical issue. Get a high quality canned food, one made with chicken and one with salmon or beef, and see which one she likes. Some advice needed for a problem with my Yorkshire Terrier?
stop leaving food out for her.
stop hand feeding her.
stop feeding her people food.
pick a high quality, small kibble food that doesnt contain any corn, wheat, soy, or by products.
feed 1/8 cup twice daily.
leave the food down for 10 minutes. if she doesnt eat it, take it up and wait until the next scheduled feeding time. and repeat.
she will eat. a healthy dog will not starve itself.
if you suspect she has a problem, go to the vet.
hhmm its good that you noticed what set all of this to happen.
so i would say to kind of mix a little human food into his dog food every day and make it littler by the week. so he will gradually escape human food. it may take awhile but its good for patience.
